歷史History

嵊州古稱剡縣，至今已有2100多年歷史。早在新石器時代，此地就有人類繁衍生息。春秋戰國時期，先后屬越、吳、楚、秦國。漢景帝四年（公元前153年）為會稽郡26縣之一，稱剡。宋宣和三年（1121年）更名為嵊。1995年撤縣設市。

小黃山遺址位列2005年全國十大考古新發現之首。該遺址地處甘霖鎮桂山村小黃山，面積10萬多平方米，是目前長江中下游地區距今9000年前后規模最大的聚落遺址，是浙江乃至東南沿海地區時代最早的新石器時代考古學文化，填補了這一地區新石器時代中期偏早階段考古學文化的空白。

Shengzhou, with the history of 2100 years, was called as Shanxian in ancient times. As early as in the Neolithic Age, people was living and working in this place. During the Spring and Autumn Period, it has ever been under the administration of Yue, Wu, Chu, Qin successively. In the 4th year of Jingdi period of Han Dynasty, it is one of the counties among the 26 in Kuaiji Prefecture, called Shan. In the Xuanhe Period of Song Dynasty (AD 1121), it changed its name into Sheng. In 1995, it upgraded as county-level city with the name of Shengzhou.

Xiaohuangshan site ranked first in China's top ten archaeological discoveries in 2005. The site is located in the Xiao Huangshan of Guishan village,Ganlin town, with an area of over 100,000 square meters. It is the largest settlement sites in the Yangtze River region dating back 9,000 years ago, as well as the earliest Neolithic era archaeological culture in Zhejiang and even southeastern coastal areas, which fills the archaeological culture gap in the earlier stage of mid-Neolithic era in this region.

嵊州為亞 熱帶季風氣候，溫和濕潤，四季分明，年平均氣溫16.4℃，年平均降水量1400mm ，無霜期250天左右。

人文Culture

嵊州歷史悠久，文化底蘊深厚。傳說“大禹治水畢功于了溪”（了溪即嵊州母親河剡溪），王羲之晚年隱居于金庭，山水詩鼻祖謝靈運封籍始寧墅，李白、杜甫、白居易等400多位唐代詩人游歷剡溪開創了“唐詩之路”，朱熹、蔡元培在嵊州講學植下了悠悠文脈。中國第二大劇種--越劇在這里孕育誕生。嵊州名人輩出，有經濟學家、教育家、人口學家先驅馬寅初，音樂家任光，美術家劉文西、鄭午昌，越劇表演藝術家袁雪芬、王文娟，圍棋國手馬曉春，著名商界人士馬云、宋衛平等。

Shengzhou has a long history and profound culture background. It is said that Dayu, who strived to control the continuous flood disaster at ancient times, completed his work here in Liaoxi River (Liaoxi River is Shengzhou’s mother river Shangxi River). Wang Xizhi, one of the top calligraphers in Chinese history, spent his late reclusion life in Jinting town of Shengzhou. Xie Lingyun, the creator of scenic poems finally lived in Sanjie Town of Shenghzou. More than 400 poets in Tang Dynasty have traveled along Shanxi River, including the greatest poets Li Bai, Du Fu and Bai Juyi, and thus created the Road of Tang Poetry. Ancient educator Zhu Xi and modern educator Cai Yuanpei have given lectures in Shengzhou. It is also the birth place of the second biggest opera of China-Yueju Opera. In modern times, even more celebrated men were born here, such as the famous economist, educator and demology expert Ma Yinchu, Musician Ren Guang, Painter Liu Wenxi and Zheng Wuchang, Yueju Opera artist Yuan Xuefen and Wang Wenjuan, National Champion of go-chess Ma Xiaochun, the distinguished businessman Mayun, Song Weiping, etc.

Shengzhou is a traditional agriculture city, which has 176 provincial pollution-free agricultural producing areas, 221 agricultural leading enterprises, 3 modern agricultural areas, 12 leading industry demonstration zones and 21 specialty boutique parks included in the provincial creating points, ranking in the forefront of the province. The leading products are tea, Chinese torreya, peach-shaped plum, bamboo shoots, flowering wood, Angora, etc., among which the tea formed 3 categories of Yuexiang Longjing, Huibai, Maofeng and more than 30 brands. Shengzhou has formed a complete system from the production, early refined processing, marketing to tea machine manufacturing. 嵊州經濟開發區（浦口街道）系省級經濟開發區，規劃面積35平方公里，下轄城東分區、浦口分區和三塘分區。一期17平方公里的開發建設已基本完成，水、電、熱、通信、路網、綠化、亮化、環境等基本配套日趨完善,形成了以領帶服裝、機械電機、電器廚具三大產業集群為代表的獨具地方特色的產業結構。同時，新材料、電子信息、生物醫藥等新興產業發展迅速，為經濟轉型升級注入新的活力。開發區自主創新體系也已基本形成，區內已擁有紹興市級以上高新技術企業52家，其中省級高新技術企業24家、國家級5家，各類科研機構31家。區域性科技創新體系也初步建立，包括國家級的長毛兔生產力促進中心、省級領帶科技創新中心、省級微特電機科創中心等。開發區良好的產業基礎為各類企業提供了全方位的產業配套，實現了產業的全面對接和提升。開發區浦口二期平臺建設正在進行中，目前已調整1萬多畝建設用地，初步完成一期5600畝土地的征地工作， 發展前景廣闊。

Shengzhou Economic Development Zone(Pukou Subdistrict), approved by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, is a provincial-level economic development zone(shorted as SEDZ). 嵊州省級高新技術產業園區位于嵊州市北部，104國道和上三高速穿境而過，距上海市區僅1.5個小時，是“浙江一小時經濟圈”的重要地區之一。高新園區規劃總用地面積33平方公里，其中核心區4.7平方公里。根據“三年基本配套，五年初見成效，十年規模成型”的總體要求，堅持以“生態、產業、人居”融為一體的理念，園區中傳統產業區、科技研發區、休閑居住區、文化商貿區等已啟動建設；機電裝備制造業、新材料、生物醫藥等為主的主導產業已初具規模；到2020年，整個高新園區服務功能基本完善，生產性服務業基本配套，小城市建設基本形成，成為具有區域競爭力的科技型工業園區和集現代化、信息化、低碳生態型為一體的新城區。

Zhejiang Provincial Hi-Tech Industrial Zone is located in the north part of Shengzhou, where No. 104 National Highway and Shangyu-Sanmen Highway are passing through. It takes 1.5 hours to Shanghai, and it is one of the important areas of "One-hour Economic Circle in Zhejiang". The total high-tech industrial zone planning area is of 33 square kilometers, in which the core zone is 4.7 square kilometers. According to the general requirements of "Finishing the basic facility in three years, winning initial success in five years, forming scale in a decade", adhere to the concept of "ecological, industrial and residential harmony", the traditional industrial area, R & D area, leisure residential area, cultural and commercial district have started to build. The leading industries have taken shape, such as the mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturing, new materials, bio-medical industries , etc. Till 2020, the service function of the entire high-tech industrial zone will be generally completed, the production service industry almost forms a complete set. It has built two groups (Hot spring tourism resort, baizhang waterfall sightseeing resort), one corridor (Tang poetry recreational corridor). It has built a number of new fashion projects, such as hot spring town, health club, Tang poetry corridor, forest resort and large scale flower park. The total investment is about 4.39 billion yuan, of which the investment of major tourism project about 3.21 billion yuan, and the infrastructure project investment is estimated about 1.18 billion yuan. In the long term, through the recent development and construction, the hot spring tourism resort is planned to build into a large-scale tourist destination, with the function of leisure, sports and health,as well as sightseeing tour, cultural experience, sports and entertainment, shopping, with the aim of the first-class eco-tourism resort in the Yangtze River Delta.
